The Skill Bank
OUR COMMUNITY
This website started from a simple but strong idea, everyone has a talent, even if you don't always realise it. At school, we often know each other only through grades, classes, and subjects, but we don't really know what each person is good at or what they could offer to others. This platform is a space for sharing and helping each other. It was created to bring students together and turn individuals skills into something useful for everyone. Here, you can share what you can do, support other students, and at the same time feel more confident about yourself.
Talents are divided into four main areas:
- Academic support: students who help others with school subjects or homework.
- Languages: students who share the language they speak to help communication and cultural exchange.
- Relational support: students who help others understand emotions or personal situations, by listening and talking.
- Extra school talents: creative, artistic, practical, or personal skills that don't always have time to share at school.
The goal of this project is to create a more open, supportive and connected community.
One hour is always one hour
This website is like a time bank, where the most important thing is time and the skills you decide to share.
The idea is very simple, one hour of your time is equal to one hour of another student's talent. If you spend one hour helping someone with a subject, a language, a personal situation, or an extra school skill, you earn one hour that you can use when you need help.
This way, everything is based on fairness and respect. No talent is better than another, because every skill takes effort, practice, and time. Everyone has something to give, and everyone can ask for help.
This time bank encourages collaboration, students connecting with each other, and creates a space where knowledge is shared freely. It's about supporting each other. Sharing your talent means being part of the school community and helping create a place where growing is something we do together.
